‎Neo Black Movement  initiation, 25 suspects detained

The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended 25 suspected members  of the Neo Black Movement (NBM) during a planned initiation ceremony. The arrests occurred on Thursday, January 8, in Uso community of Owo Local Government Area, after a tip-off from a local resident.

‎The suspects, who reportedly traveled from Ondo, Osun, Edo, and Lagos states, were gathered in a secluded area of Uso when police tactical units arrived. The Police recovered a Toyota Highlander SUV and an unregistered motorcycle at the scene.

‎The Ondo State Police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the operation was successfully carried out after receiving credible information from a resident.

‎Dawn Herald gathered that the suspects finally confessed to their involvement in cult-related activities while in police custody and are currently awaiting trial in Akure, the state capital.

‎The CP advises youths to shun all forms of cultism. He emphasized that there is no gain in engaging in such acts, as they only lead to grave consequences.
