Peace Corps Commandant, Finance Director arraigned by EFCC over N60m fraud

The National Commandant of the Nigeria Peace Corps, Dickson Akoh, and the Corps’ Director of Finance, Omolala Aminat Ahmed, were arraigned on Friday before Justice H. B. Yusuf of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja, on charges on N60 million fraud.

‎The arraignment was carried out by the Abuja Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which accused the officials of criminal misappropriation of funds meant for the Corps.

‎The two officials were arraigned on a two-count charge which include; criminal agreement to misappropriate funds, an illegal act punishable under Section 96 of the Penal Code Laws of the FCT and dishonestly converting to their personal use a portion of the fund meant for the execution of a contract for the supply of badges.

‎Both Dickson Akoh and Omolala Aminat Ahmed pleaded not guilty to all charges read against them. Following their plea, prosecution counsel Khalid Sanusi requested a date for trial commencement. Justice Yusuf adjourned the matter till February 25, 2026, for trial.

‎Justice Yusuf granted bail of 5 million naira to the defendants and that each defendant must provide one surety in like sum. The sureties must be of a reputable character and must be resident in Abuja.
