The Federal Government has announced that it will shortly reveal the identities of the individuals and networks responsible for financing terrorism across the country.
Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, made the disclosure, stating that the administration is taking decisions on national security and to counter terrorist threats.
The government is making decisive interventions. In the coming days, Nigerians will know who the terrorists are and those funding them – Bwala
He emphasized that terrorism is a global menace, requiring international cooperation, especially as extremist activities shift from the Middle East toward the African Sahel.
Bwala’s announcement comes alongside President Tinubu’s warning against the use of Private Military and Security Contractors (PMSCs) in African conflict zones.
Speaking at the 7th African Union-European Union Summit in Angola, President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, rejected the reliance on private contractors, arguing that their involvement undermines African sovereignty and complicates counter-terrorism operations.
Bwala urged world powers to continue to cooperate and support Nigeria to dismantle these networks. He emphasized that any nation where terrorists operate becomes a concern for the rest of the world.
