Groom allegedly stabbed to death by wife three days after wedding

A newlywed groom, Abubakar Abdulkarim, popularly known as Dan Gaske, was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife, Zainab Muhammad, just three days after their wedding in Jibia, Katsina State.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the residence of the couple in Tashar Aibo. The groom was reportedly attacked in his sleep, sustaining a fatal knife wound to the neck.

According to eyewitness reports, the wife, identified as Zainab Muhammad, reportedly appeared confused and sought food from a neighbor after the incident. Concerned neighbors followed her back, discovered the deceased, and immediately alerted authorities.

Contrary to some rumors, relatives confirmed the marriage was not forced and that the couple maintained good relations before the wedding. However, sources claimed the groom and his family were unaware the wife was previously married and divorced.

Police have confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect is in custody as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
