President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ended his work holiday earlier than planned and will be back in Abuja today Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to continue his official responsibilities.
Originally departing for France on September 4 for part of his yearly break, President Tinubu had intended to spend ten working days abroad, splitting time between France and the United Kingdom. During his stay in France last week, he shared a private lunch with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The two leaders discussed vital areas of collaboration between their countries and pledged to strengthen their relationship for shared economic growth and international peace.
A statement from Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, confirmed that the head of state has decided to return earlier than expected to Abuja to resume his duties.
Onanuga stressed that the President’s premature return shows his dedication to serving the nation without delay. He added that discussions with President Macron were constructive, setting the stage for enhanced cooperation.
