The Kebbi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended three members of its state working committee and appointed new leadership to replace them.
The suspended members include the party’s Chairman, Engineer Sufyanu Bala, Deputy Chairman Junaidu Muhammad Mudi, and Secretary Hauwa’u Muhammad.
However, Abdulrazaq Abubakar Isah Iko has been appointed as the new interim Chairman, while Adamu Aliyu will serve as the new interim Secretary of the party.
During a press conference held in Birnin Kebbi, the state Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Jamilu Muhammad Y.J., explained that the decision to suspend Engineer Sufyanu Bala and his colleagues came after discussions among all ADC stakeholders in the state.
The suspension was attributed to poor leadership and administrative inefficiency, which have resulted in a crisis within the party.
Jamilu further alleged that the suspended committee members engaged in questionable financial practices without the knowledge of other executive committee members and failed to account for funds expended in the party’s name.
The party confirmed that the remaining executive committee members of the ADC in Kebbi State remain valid and active, and they are expected to collaborate with the new interim leadership to elevate the party to greater heights.
