Popular Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, known as 2Baba, issued a public apology on Tuesday night after backlash over comments made during a recent podcast. He had claimed that while a man can deeply love one woman, men are biologically inclined to have sexual relations with multiple partners, sparking widespread debate online.

In the podcast, 2Baba stated, “A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. A man can love one woman die, but it’s impossible for a man to sexually be with only one woman.” The remark drew sharp criticism, with many accusing him of justifying infidelity, though some called it a “harsh truth.”

In a video shared on Tuesday, 2Baba described his comment as “unlegendary” and expressed regret. He said, “I know I fuc#ked up with what I said and I know I’m going to get cancelled because of it. I apologise to my fans and most importantly, my wife, the love of my life, Natasha and also my kids. I’m terribly sorry. That’s not who I am.”

The apology followed heated online reactions, with fans and critics debating the singer’s views on monogamy. 2Baba emphasized his commitment to his wife and family, distancing himself from the controversial statement and seeking to quell the outrage it caused.
