Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole, The Edo State Commissioner for Health, in the 2025 Health Sector Joint Annual Review Dissemination Meeting organized by the ministry of health assured state residents of government’s commitment to development and progress in the healthcare sector in Edo state.
The commissioner described the event as one “a sign of the government’s continued commitment to transparency and progress in the healthcare sector in the state.” And it brought several stakeholders such as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, members of the State House of Assembly, development partners, Honourable Commissioner for Health and other health experts.
Hon. Dr. Richard Edosa, The Chairman, House Committee on Health, spoke on the growth and delivery in the state health sector while Dr. Theodore Ehanire, The representative of the National Health Insurance Authority pledged allegiance to the health sector In ways to move forward. Orher statements from Programme Manager for UNICEF Lagos Field Office, Mr. Mohammed Okorie and Director of Planning, Research and Statistics at the Edo State Ministry of Health, Mrs. Loretta Iruobe encouraged the state workers.
Mrs. Cynthia Amayo, the state Health Management Information System Office spoke on certain hindrances in data reporting, performance monitoring, and evaluation and ways to improve these in order to build a healthier Edo State through collaboration and growth.
